BrightHorizons: A Day of Colors & Dreams for Autism Children

One sunny morning in Chennai, something extraordinary happened at the Institute of Child Health Hospital, Chennai. It wasn't just another day, it was April 2, World Autism Awareness Day 2024, under the theme “Empowering Autistic Voices” - a day marked globally to spread love, understanding, and support for people facing autism. But for us at Pephands, it was also the day we took our very first step with our Pephands Pain & Palliative Care, weaving a story of compassion and hope through our Pepcares program under Bright Horizons: Autism Support Kits for Inclusive Growth Initiative.

Celebrating their way of Life

Imagine walking into a room and seeing children burst into colors, laughter, and dreams. This was the scene at the hospital as autistic children, each dressed as what they aspired to be—be it a brave Police officer, Doctors, Lawyers, or inspiring national leaders. Their costumes were more than just fabric, they were the wings to their deepened dreams rooted in their hearts, they were ice-breaking moments for the autistic children while strongly supported by their enthusiastic mother & father, and their encouragement played a vital role in engaging their children with cheerfulness & sportsmanship, each child holding a positive slogan about autism, transforming the story of autism from challenge to triumph.

Pephands Pain & Palliative Care isn't just about addressing physical pain, it's about healing the wounds of the soul by touching lives, bringing joy, addressing what they need, and making a difference in the gentlest yet profound way. Through Pepcares, we channeled our efforts on this remarkable World Autism Awareness Day.
