Cyclone Michaung Relief Program

As we believe prevention is better than cure, Cyclone Michaung has proven nature is always unpreventable once again!
In spite of the tiring efforts and alerts from our Tamil Nadu Govt, our Chennai was shaken by the Cyclone Michaung intensively on December 4, 2023, leaving a fear of flood in all our minds for the rest of life!
But whatever the problem is, the solution is always from earth. Humanity is the best care to be offered during times of darkness. Believing this, the Pephands Team initiated the Cyclone Michaung Flood Relief Program with our small team instantly once the impact of Cyclone Michaung was unacceptable!
What actually happened on December 4, 2023?
Cyclone Michaung slaughtered the city with flooded heavy rainwater, resulting in loss of electricity, food & water for 3 days in major parts of the city amid the cyclone red alert in Chennai, leaving the people house arrest for 3+ days with no communication channels for help in this digital era. Cyclone Michaung has not only damaged our livelihood but created homeless, helpless & starving people who were not able to receive any help from the people due to high level of water clogged from streets to houses.
#Pephands Flood Relief Program
As an effective measure to save people affected by Michaung cyclone, Pephands immediately formed a #Flood Relief Program with our volunteered team members and started helping people who were running out of food, water, & essential supplies for life especially families and kids.
Reaching the unreachable in Velachery - Day 1
Our #Flood Heroes launched the #Flood Relief Journey in the highly affected area of Velachery, while distributing 100+ food packets & water bottle to people stuck in the middle of neck level water, initially it was challenging for our team to reach the people but our team members undeterred efforts made it possible that humanity can act as bridge to reach the needy even in dumped water.
In the colonies of Perumbakkam & Semmencheri Housing Boards - Day 2
Not limited, Pephands Flood Relief Program team members also volunteered hands to housing boards of Perumbakkam & Semmencheri, especially reaching the 120 differently abled people & aiding the helpless of totally 200+ people with food, water bottles & blankets with care who was blocked with access to routine life due to cyclone aftermath.
Transporting Free Foods to People - Day 3
While the distance cannot stop us serving humanity, our team piled up with the transport and distributed 500+ food packets to Madipakkam from Perumbakam to reach our needy people. While we offer our special tribute to Social Activist Mr. Nirmal, Seyal Foundation & No Food Waste Organization for supporting us completing the noble mission
Movement for Needy - Day 4
Lending support to the needy, Pephands team reached out with an open hand by distributing 800+ food packets to the flood affected people in the areas of Perumbakkam, while thanking Terminate Hunger Welfare Organization for their hearty effort and covering the area of Gummidipoondi with 300+ food packets for two simultaneous days & distributing 200 warm blankets to the affected people of Michaung Cyclone.
Every time the nature proves its power, it is our responsibility to prove our empathy as the tallest symbol of unity, if our small hands of Pephands can restore the lives of flood 2000+ affected people by offering emergency kits such as Food, Drinking water bottle, candles, mosquitoe kits, warm blankets and the livelihood essentials, together with your support we could restore the lives of many affected people during disasters like cyclone, floods & earthquake.
